DocuSlate Day 1

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) presents its annual line-up DocuSlate documentary program, spotlighting documentary filmmakers and stories from around the world with a selection of features and short documentaries across seven programs, beginning on Thursday evening and continuing for a full day on Sunday.

DocuSlate begins on Thursday evening with the North American Premiere of Fabrizio Laurenti’s Sergio & Mirta, A Lovestory in 8 mm, a found footage film offering a rare and intimate glimpse into the lives and romance of Italian Cult movie director Sergio Corbucci and his then wife, Mirta Guarnaschelli, 75 years ago, a recovered piece of cinema history and beautiful portrait.

NFMLA showcases films by filmmakers of all backgrounds throughout the year, across both our general and InFocus programming. All filmmakers are welcome and encouraged to submit their projects for consideration for upcoming NFMLA Festivals, regardless of the schedule for InFocus programming, which celebrates representation by spotlighting various communities of filmmakers as part of the NFMLA Monthly Film Festival.
